Soaps and Socks:

Well, unlike HRM Aesa, I have determined that an excess of surfactants is NOT a problem for the people I work with. So the ladies who seem to adore scented candles and my boss who likes to work out will all be receiving hand-made soap. With the exception of my sock-obsessed Admin who will be receiving a pair of wool socks that look something like this:



I don't want to be the office scrooge or anything, but I *am* leaving for Paris in less than a week... I need my allowance, small as it is, for buying souvenirs! So all my colleagues will be receiving cheap-to-make presents that require a certain amount of skill/knowledge to produce. The lady who stole my fishy hat won't be getting anything... Except for her "Swedish Fish Hat." (I originally intended for it to be a Jara fish, but Swedish Fish actually has a better ring to it.)

Actually, I'm mostly into making my own string these days... So Domestic 56s Wool Top (https://www.rhlindsaywool.com/secure/index.asp) from RH Lindsey would keep me in fiber to make string out of, or some nice #2 or #0, 32" circular needles (http://www.knitpicks.com/Options+Harmony+Wood+Fixed+Circular+Knitting+Needles_NDKPFixedCabWD.html) from Knit Picks would keep me in my knitting habit.

Or you could consult my Laurel and see what books she thinks I should own. ;-)

Do you still need either of these things? I went to a local yarn shop and they had neither, tho they said they'd be getting the needles in. I have yet to return on account of business, so I am wondering if you bought them your own self already...

I do still need the knitting needles. I would really like the ones from Knit Picks... The link in my entry is to the web site from whence they may be ordered - you won't have to get up from your desk even, provided you have your credit card handy...
