I am now the mother of two adorable Dobermans... One of whom is ENTIRELY too clever and entirely too cute... First she learned that an empty water bowl made a bigger clang when she stomped on the edge with her foot... And since the clanging hurt mom's ears, mom would fill the bowl so that it wouldn't clang. THEN Maggie learned that she could just clang the bowl whenever it needed to be filled... Usually I fill it first thing in the morning when the dogs are outside "doing their business," but for the last two days my schedule has been a little "out of whack." (I had a doctor's appointment this morning, so the girls got to "sleep in" with Friediness.)

So this afternoon, I was working in my office when I heard a ruckus going on in the kitchen.

**CLANG! CLANG!**

"In a minute, Maggie!"

**CLANG!**

"Come on man, I just woke up! SHUT UP!"

**CLANG! CA-CLANG!**

**Sound of reluctant shuffling and the fridge opening.**

**CLANG!**

"Listen, dog! Just which side of Pavlov do you think you're on?"

**Clang!**

**Sound of water being poured into the dog bowl and a happy dog slurping up her hard-earned beverage.**

I love living in a house filled with so much love and laughter that even the ambient noises make me smile.

Animals train us well don't they? :)
