This US marine Sergent was leading the recruits through weapons practice, using a basic quarterstaff. He always whipped the behind of each and every recruit. Until one day, this new recruit stepped forward, and handed the Sergent's rear to him. The Sergent got up and was about to start whacking away at the recruit when a voice from the watch tower stopped him.
It was the Sergent major.
"Son, stop right there, and ask this recruit if he is SCA."
The sergent does, and replies, "He says he is. What does that mean?"
"It means you can't beat him. Ask him if he is a knight."
Again, there is a muffled conversation, then the Sergent, a little baffled, says, "He says he is. What does that mean?"
"It means I cant beat him. Ask him if he is a duke."
Once more, there is a muffled conversation. "He says he is. What does THAT mean?"
"It means that THEY can't beat him."
This made me chuckle...
