Read and Enjoy! Remember: 8 days til landgrab!
1) What is one of your favorite things to do alone at Pennsic?
Listen to distant drumming while staring into the last embers of a deserted fire pit.
2) What is one of your favorite things to do with a group at Pennsic?
Exchange gossip and funny stories with my friends while ingesting tastey goodies in the comfort of my coffee shop.
3) What is one of your best Pennsic Memories?
Staying up HOURS past the point of slap-happiness with Doug and Griffin, doing laps around the lake and attempting to hang the Timberwolf pavillion chandelier by standing on Griffin's shoulders.
4) What is one of your weirdest Pennsic Memories?
Babysitting myself at 4:00 in the morning after being dosed with what was apparently LSD at a very crowded party. One of my camp mates was trying to be cheerful and chatty, but I couldn't look at her because her face kept morphing into that of one of the Gamorrean Guards from Jabba's palace, which was VERY disconcerting.
5) What was your first Pennsic?
Pennsic 23. I was 17 years old and DELIGHTED to dig trenches on the Serengetti with my Daddy while wearing funny clothes. Dad still thinks I'm nuts, but continues to do his best to be "supportive."
6) How many/which Pennsics have you attended?
This will be my 15th. I've never missed a Pennsic since my first back in 1994.
7) What keeps you going back to Pennsic?
At first it was the hot-geek-boys.
Then it was close friends.
Then it was the close friends who suddenly turned into hot-geek-boyfriends.
Some years, I think it's just sheer momentum.
And these days... the summer crawls on, melancholy and incomplete until my hair smells of woodsmoke and I am serenaded into slumber by the sound of drums and laughter.
8) Are you going to Pennsic this year?
Of course.
9) What group/block do you usually camp in?
Vlad's Pleasure Pavilions on E20.
10) What three words would you use to describe Pennsic?
feels like home

Though I think I will be happy to do without the LSD episode, thank you very much...
