The weekend was a busy one, between the 12th Night event in Minnesota and the MadTown Throwdown here in Madison. Zig's friend Nick won his fight at the throwdown. Two fighters in the Throwdown won their rounds wearing Zig's gloves, so now they are officially the "lucky gloves." Unfortunately, the last fighter got blood all over the "lucky gloves" and thus will have to replace them. I am trying not to be too offended by the biohazards inherent to this sport... Next time, Zig says he will get us reserved seats so that I can actually SEE the fight. Most of the fights ended with grappling, and once the fighters were down, the audience stood up to see them, so I spent most of the Throwdown not being able to see anything at all.

Jesse, the fellow that beat Zig in his last appearance at the Throwdown was fighting. And Zig likes the guy as a fighter, so he was cheering for him.... Which presented me with the markedly odd situation of cheering on the guy that **beat up my boyfriend last year... *blink*

**Beat up is a bit strong, but looks good in that sentence. Jesse won in the second round: submission/triangle choke.

I'm about to lose my damn mind. I'm attempting to pack for a 2 week business trip to Philly, and I'm trying really hard not to forget anything, or inadvertantly screw myself financially. Ugh. If I lose my boarding pass for the plane, I won't be reimbursed for the plane fare. If I don't tape my hotel reciept to another piece of paper with my name and project number on it and scan it legibly and attach it in PDF format to the work order, I will not be reimbursed for the hotel. These are not my boss' rules... These are the rules of the people we're contracting too. My girl boss maintains that they should have been a law firm rather than a software company. I'm beginning to think I concurr. There was a 56 PAGE document on how I should prepare my reciepts if I wanted to be reimbursed.... 56. Pages.

It's a damn good thing I started reading all this crap in advance, or I wouldn't have known about the boarding passes and thrown them out. Ugh.

And have I complained yet that my life seems to revolve around a series of migrating chargers? Seriously... 1/2 my luggage is composed of cabling. I need to get some zip ties or cable holders or something. iPod charger, phone charger (car and wall), gps charger (glad I have one that is joined to the phone charger), laptop power cord, cat 5, phone synch cable, head set charger... Jeebus Crackers on a pogo stick.

I went to Best Buy over the weekend to look for a semi portable scanner so that I could get all my reciepts into an electronic format and posted to the expense web site quicker, but of course NONE of the electronics stores in the area had what I wanted. Looks like I'll have to order off of Dell.com after all... But of course, if I shop on Dell.com, I'll need to stop and look at laptops and stuff... and if I do that, I'll be crying about not having my bonus for last quarter... or any of my expense checks, for that matter.

*sigh*

Off to re-idiot check my luggage...

Sorry to have missed you while you were here, but we were having a pretty busy weekend, too. We'll try to connect up next time.

I read that you were feeling a bit sickly. Suck... The weekend just ended up being a MARATHON of Stand Around and Watch This, followed by Drive Like Mad to Get There, followed by Sleep on Something Odd for Three Hours, followed by a repeat of the cycle with odd bouts of No Place to Sit and OMG This is a Stupid Time for an Outdoor Event interspersed throughout. We were just EXHAUSTED by Saturday night when the event finally ended at 9:00 and the guys just decided that they would like to drive straight home to Madison and sleep in their Own Damn Beds.

Oof, I can see why! Actually, being sickly did not stop the Relentless Socializing. Just slowed it down a little bit.

It is a stupid time for an outdoor event. Oof.
