For those of you who are interested, here is the pattern that I used to create
ego_id_non_feci's Magic Scarf. If you are planning on reversing the skulls on the bottom end of the scarf so that the skulls are right side up, no matter which end of the scarf you're looking at, you will need to make some modifications to the pattern. (When knitting the chart from the top down, you need to reverse the order of the lines of each color. So if the chart has row numbers, you will knit row 2 then row 1 then row 4 then row 3. Then 6 then 5. Etc.)
Last night I also created this chart for the "Magic White Scarf" project that I will get 'round to eventually. (If anyone is knitting a White Scarf for one of the new Don's of Northshield, please feel free to use the chart if you like. Please just realize that I have NOT TESTED IT YET... I am 95% confident that it'll work just fine, though.)

Counter-intuitively, if you want your gryphon to be gold, the blue rows should be knit in white and the white rows should be knit with gold. I just used blue because it was easier for me to see than yellow against white. / are purl stitches on the KNIT side of the scarf. Because the color changes every 2 rows, you do not need to break your thread for every color change. You can just carry the dormant color up the side of the work.
