Well, I looked at the Thing-A-Day website and wasn't completely down with the neurocis/half-assery that would be required of me if I were to participate. However, it's not a bad idea in concept, so I will attempt my own modified version this month.
I will try to work on at least one thing that I SHOULD be doing for at least one hour (or until it's done) a day and provide evidence that I have done so. This may result in "Socks in Two Weeks" or "Garb for Household Members in a week." It's hard to say, really. I'm sure there will be some days when I just won't have time to post properly... But I shall try.
Maybe I should re-name this to "One hour of good habits a day." Or maybe, "An hour not spent playing Warcraft."
Today, I wrote a six-page paper letter to someone whom I've owed a letter to since December. Very shortly, she'll be able to verify that this was done. She is not the only person I owe a letter to, sadly. I have been a slack-ass when it comes to writing stuff that wasn't documentation. Thus, I shall be devoting another day to a letter sometime next week. So if you think I owe you a letter, and you don't get yours this week, it will probably come next week. Also on the list for next week will be "Finishing the Socks Mom Requested at Christmas." (Note: That's AT Christmas and not FOR Christmas. I am behind, but not THAT behind.)
Also on the list, is a belated birthday gift for my Brother. He didn't get me anything for Christmas OR my Birthday, because HE is a broke college kid... So I don't feel bad about being 2 weeks late on his gift. It's a Big, Fancy Gift, so he'll be pleased even if it's late. (He should stop requesting out-of-stock gifts the day after Christmas anyway... People who wanted Guitar Hero III for Wii started perpetrating crimes of consumerism LONG before December this year.... When he was embarrassed to tell me what he wanted for Christmas, I can see now why he was a bit sheepish. I mean, aside from the fact that it's a video game that can be compared to DDR.)
