I've done this whole Christmas thing before, but never have I lived in a place where Christmas was recieved with such enthusiasm. Seriously... I have presents EVERYWHERE. Following the first rush of presents from people at my office, there was a second rush, including a gift certificate for the Hilldale mall, a cheese platter (A place to put the eventual cheese, and not a platter with cheese on it... Zig was disappointed by this lack of cheese.), wool socks, a poinsetta, a box of fresh spices (the bay leaves and cinnamon sticks made my office smell YUMMY!), a nutcracker (the painted wooden kind, like in the ballet), MORE CHOCOLATE, and a box of home made fudge.
As if that wasn't enough surprise,
naughtyaelf got me gift certificates to see a chiropractor! Yay! I probably won't get to do that until after the holiday, but I am *sooooo* looking forward to it!
I will admit to being caught with my proverbial pants down on this one. In Pittsburgh, I was used to getting a piece of squashed holiday bread and some kind of antiseptic ointment from my mother. Next year, it's on, people, but for the love of god, why didn't anyone warn me about this?! And where am I going to put all this lovely loot? I wasn't planning on having to find homes for this many new toys... Actually, I was at a loss for places to put all the Christmas Cards, and those I'm not even keeping past the first of the year... Where the hell is this nutcracker going to live?
*Is off to find a safe home for her pretty nutcracker doll.* I hope the dogs don't chew on him...
