I responded to this Meme of [livejournal.com profile] eithni's a while ago, and now I'm posting it, because I said I would:

Leave me a comment and I'll answer the following questions:
1. Why I friended you.
2. Associate you with something.
3. Something I like about you.
4. A memory I have of you.
5. Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.
6. Tell you my favorite user pic of yours.
In return, post this in your blog.

Since I'm posting this to you, do I have to do another round? I'm cool with that.

1. Why I friended you: I enjoy your appreciation of the absurd.
2. Associate you with something: Yummy food and tea!
3. Something I like about you: You seem to do what you like and what you need and don't give two hoots about what anyone thinks. You are very brave and I get the sense that you are a very loyal and invaluable friend to have. Someday, I hope to rank in their number. ;-)
4. A memory I have of you: The first time I met you outside of Costumer's... You were wearing a beanie as a "recognizable feature" so that the person who was staying at your house could find you. I found that to be both an amusing fashion statement, and a firm statement of individuality.
5. Ask something I've always wanted to know about you: Now that you've told me that story about Rowan finding your pictures... I'll show you mine if you show me yours sometime!
6. Tell you my favorite user pic of yours: You need to put up more userpics! But I do like the full avatar with the kitty and pumpkins!

1. Why I friended you: I've learned coolness through association my whole life. Continuing to associate myself with and learn from the cool geeks seemed like the thing to do even in my new life in Madison.
2. Associate you with something: Books!
3. Something I like about you: Your nose crinkle face is probably the cutest facial expression ever. It is the facial expression that represents girl feelings about boy cooties in the most definitive way.
4. A memory I have of you: Siegfried told me aaaaall about you before bringing you down to my coffee shop for the first time. I could tell that YOU were one of those friends whose opinions REALLY counted for him and he REALLY wanted me to like you and for you to like me. But he spent a VERY long time telling me about how talented and smart you were and built you up to the point where I was quite nervous about the whole thing. We weren't ACTUALLY dating at that point, but it was starting to feel like the "great girlfriend audition" or meeting one's boyfriend's family for the first time. It felt very formal, and after his detailed list of all of your admirable attributes and your "Baronessness" I was really expecting him to arrive with someone like Aramanthra or Duchess Isabella of East Kingdom. So when he arrived with someone in *comfortable* garb, combat boots, and a frequently used nose crinkle facial expression, I was *quite* relieved. I can tell a lot based on the kinds of people that a person wants to impress, and I was pleased to find that Zig CHOSE to hang with *my kind* of quality people.
5. Ask something I've always wanted to know about you: When do you most like solitude?
6. Tell you my favorite user pic of yours: Definitely the "Excellent" frog... Followed closely by the "stack of frogs" icon.

I'm leaving a comment. Even though I don't know you that well, haha. But I'm attempting to comment more! And post for that matter.

1. Why I friended you: You are an intelligent writer with similar interests. I'm glad you're posting more often!
2. Associate you with something: WWIII (X-Men)
3. Something I like about you: From the way you write, I can tell that you're intelligent and thoughtful. Practical, even! I like that in a person... It's harder to find than one would expect - especially on the intarwebs!
4. A memory I have of you: No literal memories yet, but we'll get there eventually. We're still in the "getting to know you" phase of investigating one another's LJ's... (*poke* It'd go FASTER if you posted more than twice a month! :-P)
5. Ask something I've always wanted to know about you: What line of work are you in? I can *almost* tell from your posts about work, but usually you focus more on your interactions with colleagues than on what it was that you were doing. So I haven't *quite* pinned it down yet.
6. Tell you my favorite user pic of yours. The "Oh, NO" kitty.

Hahaha, yes I am REALLY trying to write more. I just get so caught up in other people's lives, I forget to share my own!

As for my line of work....I'm employed at a fairly large corporation that manufactures electronic messageboards. We do scoreboards, gas digits, as well as signs that display ads and crap. Like the ones you see at Burger King, CVS, Walgreens, McDonalds...so on and so forth. I'm sure we have a bunch of crap in Las Vegas too. I don't know that we are the leading seller, but we are very high up there. I'm gonna say top 3 but I'm not positive on that.

1. Why I friended you: Because partly asian chicks tend to have one handicap in common... The traditions of asian societies don't normally blend well with modern American life - sometimes with hilarious results.
2. Associate you with something. I still want a bite of that fruit salad you posted pictures of...
3. Something I like about you.I enjoy the frankness with which you post in some of your more emotional entries.
4. A memory I have of you.*Still wants that fruit salad.*
5. Ask something I've always wanted to know about you. What do you look like?
6. Tell you my favorite user pic of yours.Either "Rant" or "WTF?" I LOVE that End of the World cartoon. I think my brother knows the entire narration by heart, and he'll spontaneously break out with the first two or three lines any time there is an awkward silence...

I know I've done this one before, but I don't remember if you commented. I'd love to play, but I don't feel like posting it again. If you'd like, I'll go back and "do" you in the comments of my original post. If you're not already there.

Now do me, do me!

1. Why I friended you. You are the sexually brave and practical person that I always wanted to be. You are the evidence in my mind that it is possible to be sexy and not a tease, and active without being a slut. You are my hero, on that front.
2. Associate you with something. You are the definition of flirtation, my dear.
3. Something I like about you. You tell it like it is, and you see the same humorous aspects of life that I do.
4. A memory I have of you. Chatting about Dumb Boys (TM) on instant messenger, all hours of the night.
5. Ask something I've always wanted to know about you. Were you always this cool or did that evolve? In many ways you remind me of my friend Mandr in high school. She was BORN COOL. I, on the other hand, had to evolve into my current incarnation of Cool the LONG WAY. Years of careful study of the people I thought were cool...
6. Tell you my favorite user pic of yours.Totally the "Corrupting Innocents" one... which I will steal with your permission?

1: Wow. Thanks. Those are big words, and I genuinely appreciate that.

2: Heh. Yes, that's true.

3: I appreciate that about you too!

4: It's been a while. Now that you don't have a Dumb Boy (TM) anymore, we'll have to think of other topics. :)

5: Uhm... Well. Heh. I remember the first time someone called me cool. I must've been 16 or 17, because it was during my year in the States and it really made an impression on me. I had *never* thought of myself like that. Back in my old class, I figured people mostly perceived me as the annoying, stuck-up, pretty girl. I was bookish and smart, and certainly not cool. Maybe I started getting a taste of coolness when I consciously decided to stay out of the teenage power struggles and just floated between groups, friendly with pretty much everybody. But I certainly liked it when some random kid called me cool with awe in her voice, and although it seemed rather unjustified, I embraced it. I still don't consider myself cool as such, unless it's in a dorky, quirky, really silly kind of way. But I'm my own person, I don't give a shit what people think or say about me, and I guess that's pretty cool.

Short answer - it most certainly evolved. If it's even there. :)

6: Be my guest. It suits you. Just remember to credit [livejournal.com profile] xbeauty_iconsx as I certainly didn't make it myself.
