1. Had brunch with Liam one last time before leaving Pittsburgh. The man talked for 3 HOURS without ever repeating a story. I managed to tell 2 stories in that time. I wasn't really able to get out more than a sentence or two before I'd remind him of something from his past and he'd be off reminiscing again... It's a good thing he's a moderately intelligent man, or his tendency to cut me off with a 10 minute tangent would have been irritating. As it was, it was merely amusing and somewhat endearing, since it's been a while since the last time I saw him.
2. Packed up all my shit. Mostly didn't forget anything on the list. I did not separate the stuff in the kitchen, and just ended up grabbing all my dishes. I will get the food processor and the electric mixer on the next trip.
3. Had my stripper retirement party at the Club. There was cake. The DJ announced me as "the woman who is Arguably Stripper Royalty." I was flattered. I had cake. I got presents. Girls that I wasn't even sure recognized me told me that they'd always admired me and that they were sad to see me go. I felt well loved. During my 1:30 set on stage, Jared (the current manager) came up on stage and fired me grandly so that I could go home early. :-) (Anyone who's worked at that club for longer than a year has been fired AT LEAST ONCE... Except me. Thus... in order to see to it that I had the FULL Bare Elegance/Club Royal experience, Jared made sure I was fired at least once. Touching, really. Plus, I beat the traffic getting out of there at 2:00.
4. Packed up my car. Cried on the MamaDog. Kissed the GhostKitty. Admonished my brother to take care of my house and my children. Left Pittsburgh at 2:50 AM EST and arrived in Madison at 10:40 AM CST. Snuck in and surprised the heck out of my Friediness, who was still abed. I helped him stay there for another hour until his Packer game came on.
5. Worked my first day in Madison. Didn't accomplish much. 2 dogs and one hot boyfriend are very distracting. I will try working from the coffee shop tomorrow.
6. Went to the gym with Zig. Worked out on the treadmill. His gym is SUCH a boy gym. All free weights and punching bags. No places to stretch and very few cardio machines. At least it doesn't smell TOO much of socks. And at least I have a built in work-out partner... Even if our workouts are drastically different.
7. Went to Gunther's BBQ. Had a nice time, but didn't do much visiting with anyone other than Zig. We're still too new a couple to really "divide and conquer." We'd rather gross out our friends by being disgustingly cute at all times. Besides... We already KNOW Gunther and Abbey and Kneut and Jaime and Elizabeth and Neil and Lisette and Charles. We will probably even see them later on this week. Thus... we didn't feel too bad making out during dinner.
Now we're back at home and Zig is playing video games and I'm wrapping up some work before bedtime. I think I will be very happy in this new home - small though it is. I have two dogs cuddled up with me even as I type this, and while they are not my MamaDog, I'm sure they will love me almost as good. And my Siegfried will love me like never before. I will write some better posts soon. I promise. Things are still crazy. All my clothes are still in garbage bags... *sigh*
