Blah.

So I took the old weaving project off the loom last night and started winding a new project with 80 cards onto it... only to discover that the loom that I paid WAAAAAY too much for at War is already succumbing to the tension of my warps.

Poop.

That made for woefully uneven tension in parts of my last project and will probably cause me to cut this project off the loom before I even start it and just use a weaver-tensioned-warp method to complete the project.

Mairghread's husband (I'm told) makes some very happy looms with supports on both sides so that this isn't a problem. She gave me her phone number at Coronation so that I can order one from him, but it may be many moons before I can actually get my hands on said wonderful device, so I'm going to have to make due.

I meant to take pictures of my de-loomed project last night to post this morning, but since I was up an hour and a half past my normal bed time getting my loom 3/4 warped (both literally and figuratively) I didn't end up having time. I inadvertently used my femenine wiles to get Zig to help me keep the strings from tangling while I warped my loom. (Did I mention that he was a *good* boyfriend?) I may need to ask Gunther to build me some kind of "helpy" device for this so that I won't have to keep suckering Friediness into hour long bouts of warping on a regular basis.

The new project I'm working on should be fairly pretty, assuming I can get the tension right.

I'm using one of the 17th century Jerusalem garters as inspiration for this belt. I just hope I don't run out of string before I finish getting all the cards on the loom.

Though I must say I'm pretty darn satisfied with all the new cards I made. I got some "supplies" at Joann Fabric and punched out 80 new cards for this project because the 50 cards I bought at Pennsic weren't going to be enough for what I wanted to do.

Now if I can just make my brain STOP thinking about that project long enough to get me through my work day....
