Well, I accomplished a number of good things yesterday and feel relatively satisfied with myself.

On the geek front, I've managed to get my cell phone and my laptop and my email and my calendar all playing nicely together and wirelessly at that. So the bluetooth sync is working between my Mac and my Treo and now my phone will TELL ME where I'm supposed to be and when! (And yes, I have an all day appointment in my phone for Coronation this weekend. I am that big of a geek.)

I also got some sample documentation (something I've never bothered with before in my 14 years with the SCA) from the lovely [livejournal.com profile] eithni and can now start working in all earnestness on the documentation for my tablet weaving. I've got some scans together already of two pieces of late period double-turn, double-face tablet weaving. There a couple of small problems with my project, but being as this is my first one, I don't feel *too* bad. I have a feeling that researching stuff for historical purposes is going to drive me batty... Most of the text that I have to work with is on actual PAPER in BOOK form, so I actually have to read the entire book. This never annoyed me in the past, but last night I was starting to get frustrated by the fact that I couldn't do CTRL+F to find little snippets of text. *sigh*

Today I have to drop off the car at the Kia dealership for YET MORE warantee repairs, because the vents have once again stopped blowing. And the trunk won't shut. Before I thought that trunk light being on all the time was just a bad sensor, but evidently the latch itself was starting to go. Theoretically there are still 4000 miles left on the bumper-to-bumper warantee so I'm HOPING that these repairs on super-annoying-yet-not-necessary-items won't cost me a fortune. For those of you in the audience who have been keeping score, this is the THIRD time the car has been in for the ventilation system and the SECOND time the car will be in for the trunk. Hopefully they actually get the stupid thing FIXED this time.

And today I will end the entry with something that makes me ever-so-happy. Friediness is the bestest ever boyfriend and brought me flowers for no reason:

Above: You can see the silver Kia in the background behind the flowers... And being the owner of said car, even from this lousy picture I can see that the trunk didn't latch properly...

I love daisies. These aren't exactly daisies, but they look similar. I was impressed that Friediness even knows what these flowers are called (I sure don't.) and was able to tell me that they're currently "en vogue." He is such a good boyfriend.

There is a reason KIA's are CALLED Kia's...

I swear to GOD that everyone I know who owns one of those pieces of shit, has a ZILLION problems with it. And apparently NONE of the fucktards working at the dealership know how to fix any of the problems!

But yay for the BEB! Pretty flowers, for no reason... especially ones that are "en vogue"... bonus points for sure. =)

Those are my absolute favorite kind of flowers! They're called 'Gerbera' here. They come in the prettiest colors and they just look so happy.

And now I'm picturing BEB having a long talk with the florist about what's 'en vogue'. *gigglefits*

Oh, YES! Gerbera! He probably picked them because he remembered me saying that I liked daisies, and then wound up listening very patiently to the lecture he got from the florist on the fact that they WEREN'T DAISIES, and then passed on the "Cliff Notes" version to me.

He's cool like that.
