Vampires for the Lose:
It's officially been two months since I started my levothyroxine treatments, so I had to go get my blood drawn to see if my doseage needs to be adjusted. I've noticed an overall improvement in my health since I started taking the hormones, but it's not been a "magical transformation" or anything. I have less dizzy spells, a bit more energy, and things are actually going THROUGH my digestive rather than just going IN.
I'm still not *quite* as perky as I used to be, and my blood pressure still seems to be off - being as I keep losing circulation to my fingers when I knit. Perhaps I need more medication, but we'll see what the blood tests say. I've been quite surprised by how good I've been at taking my medication on time. Admittedly, I've thrown up MORE since I started this medication than I have in the previous 2 years combined, but the threat of barfiness has been sufficient to keep me religiously timely in my dosing schedule.
I had lunch with
fencert today, after which he was kind enough to take me to my appointment with the campus vampires - er... phlebotomists. I would like to take a moment here to bitch about her complete lack of skill when it comes to skewering a body. I have GOOD veins. People usually have no problems getting blood out of me without causing me pain or bruising. She managed both and I am left somewhat cross by the experience. At least the padd thai we ate was quite tasty.
In other news,
sirzig is the best boyfriend evar and is getting me a pre-1984 Harrisville Model T with a 36" weaving width and 4 shafts for my birthday. (Yes, I know my birthday is in July, but we were shopping on Craig'sList which doesn't just present suitable looms on command. We had to keep our eye on the adds until I fell in love with something.) I have been in contact with the owner, and should be able to view/purchase the loom of my dreams this Thursday!!!
!!!!!!! <- This is as close to expressing my overwhelming excitement as I can get right now... I may be more capable of elucidating my wriggly glee after said item is safely in my studio where I can pet it regularly...
With that in mind, Seonaid and I went to the Jefferson County Sheep and Wool Festival last Saturday, and in addition to falling in love with the day old lambs and begging
sirzig to let me have one as a pet, I managed to acquire a book with 600 weaving patterns for 4 shaft looms and some gold colored wool that I will spin up for my first project.... Hopefully I'll have a chance to post pictures of eurotrash-sheep in black turtlenecks later.

I got some weaving sticks and some tastey roving there two years ago.
I glad to hear fencert is back in town. I was concerned about his with all the stuff going on over there.
