No really. I think it's the flu. Runny nose, green-death-snot, abdominal cramping FROM HELL and a fever. So I stayed home from work today...
I SWEAR it had nothing to do with my new drum carder and all the wool I processed with it. Or the 3 skeins of wool I spun. (I did up the last of the grey corridale, and one skein of the new raw wool... Which is no longer raw... It is now STRING!)
If not for the fact that I was in and out of the bathroom every 20 minutes, I would have felt guilty about staying home today and having so much fun with my spinning wheel. But my guts were in such a bad way at one point that I couldn't come out of the bathroom for half an hour... So it's a good thing I didn't go into the office. The office bathroom isn't as comforting as mine - and people would be disturbed if they caught me utilizing the wireless in there.
So that was my day both Sunday and today. Spinning and waiting around in the bathroom for the alien baby to explode out of me already... (I took some tummy medicine this morning and things seem to have calmed down now. I'm not being folded in half by pain, at any rate.)
At one point, Maggie tried to "help" me spin and tangled up a bunch of stuff. I cursed and Zig (who was watching "28 Weeks Later") said "What?!"
"I got the orifice hook stuck in my hair." I replied, not stopping to consider that the technical terms for the various bits of my spinning wheel might sound a bit weird to my non-spinning-nerd boyfriend. When he tore his eyes away from the Zombie Gore to give me a horrified look, I waggled the hook at him. "Seriously. That's what it's called."
"That's horrible. From now on, please use the proper term: hooky-thingus and not that awful slang you keep picking up from these books."
"Right. Hooky-thingus. I'll remember that..."
Though I have to admit that "orifice hook" has a certain threatening ring to it that I rather like...
