Indeed I have flipped through this book at the craft store and concluded the following things:
1. She seems to value the ring a lot more than I do. Any jackass can go out and obtain a trinket and give you a line that he has no intention of following through on. Not every boyfriend trusts you enough to get you a RIFLE as an anniversary present. Zig did, and thus, I am forced to conclude that he intends to be a perfectly well mannered boyfriend to the end of his days... Otherwise he would not have provided me with a correctional device.
2. Her boyfriends were probably not professionally trained as "SCA barbies" by dozens of well meaning laurels who wanted to see the king through his first coronation in something other than a pair of kung-fu pants. Zig is patientest ever with me creeping up behind him with a measuring tape and measuring him while he's playing video games, and making him try on "just a sleeve and nothing else"... This is more an exercise in fitting garb on man-proportions than it is in knitting Zig-specifically a sweater.
3. Maybe someday, I will actually ASK Zig what he wants out of his sweater, rather than just making something and saying "here... this should fit you." THEN it will be a sweater that I will be upset about him not liking...
It seems somewhat less than nice, but I'm working on my own skillset more than I am attempting to make a sweater that Zig will want to wear every day forever...
